Screen shot 2013-06-28 at 8.01.10 AM I have bright green fresh mint growing in the garden. So I looked up this recipe (Cuisinart) and tried this Mint and Peppermint Patty Ice Cream. It makes a sophisticated spin on your ordinary mint ice cream. I love having a garden...and an ice cream maker! Have a great day! xox lisA 1 cup whole milk 1 cup of fresh mint leaves chopped 3/4 cup sugar pinch of sea salt 2 cups of heavy cream 1 tbsp vanilla 10-12 chopped peppermint patties Screen shot 2013-06-28 at 8.01.29 AM 1.Bring milk to a boil and remove from heat and add the mint leaves and let them soak for about 20 minutes. If you want a milder flavor (my daughters aren't crazy about the mint so they prefer to have it taken out. I like it, so I keep it in! It's personal preference.), strain and discard the mint leaves. But if you like intense flavor blend the milk and mint mixture in the blender. 2.Add the sugar, salt and milk mix.whisk until sugar is dissolved, Stir in heavy cream and vanilla. Cover and refrigerate 1-2 hours or overnight. 3.Get out your Ice Cream maker, turn it on! pour in the mixture and mix for 15 minutes. add the chopped candy. Transfer to an airtight container and freeze. 4. Ready to serve in about an hour. Have fun garnishing it with candy and fresh mint leaves. .
